Love Purpose Salvation

Quit looking past people in your path…

We are called to “go” and spread the gospel.  Yes, we are called to go into all nations to spread God’s Word.

Mark 16:15

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

This post is one of personal conviction…I remember going to Europe for three months to spread God’s Word to different National baseball teams during the summer of 2002. When I returned from that trip, I can honestly say that I didn’t have an “intentional domestic conversation” with anyone regarding salvation for probably two months. I had gone and done what God said to do in His Word…kind of…reminds me of some things God said about being lukewarm…

We enjoy the idea of mission trips, and they are vital to the spread of God’s Word to people who do not have the same access to God’s Word and earthly examples of God’s Love. Many times, we are missing a  large section of our ministry opportunity on a daily basis. Many times, we treat ministry and mission opportunities like a sports schedule. There is no off-season in regards to doing what we are called to do for God’s Kingdom. It makes me cringe to think about how many opportunities I have missed through the years.

I encourage you to start by having an intentional encounter with someone which you would normally give a superficial greeting towards. You will be surprised at some of the responses that you get, and what people may let you know about them. Every conversation will not be a conversation directly relating to scripture and salvation, but every encounter should radiate God’s Love to people with which you meet. Nobody wants to hear preaching from someone they don’t think likes them, but everyone is at least intrigued by someone who genuinely cares about the encounter.

Go out…start conversations…love people…be prepared to give a reason for your joy.

1 Peter 3:15

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,
