Morning Prayer of Trust in God.
A Psalm of David, when he fled from his son Absalom.
3 Lord, how my enemies have increased!
Many are rising up against me.
2 Many are saying of my soul,
“There is no salvation for him in God.” Selah
3 But You, Lord, are a shield around me,
My glory, and the One who lifts my head.
4 I was crying out to the Lord with my voice,
And He answered me from His holy mountain. Selah
5 I lay down and slept;
I awoke, for the Lord sustains me.
6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people
Who have set themselves against me all around.
7 Arise, Lord; save me, my God!
For You have struck all my enemies on the cheek;
You have shattered the teeth of the wicked.
8 Salvation belongs to the Lord;
May Your blessing be upon Your people! Selah
Have you ever had the feeling that you didn’t stand a chance? The year 2020 brought many challenges to individuals across the world. There were feelings of despair that may have been felt for the first time…feelings of being out of control…feelings of confusion…a feeling of being uncomfortable…of being overmatched. As we start 2021, the above passage is a great place to start. We are not in control…many topics will bring the anxiety for many. Your children’s school situation, job security or search, health within your family, the current political situation, among hundreds of other things that may bring about your worry.
As we are called to live life according to His Plan, there are some (many) things that we cannot control. When we immerse ourselves in His Word, it is easier to process events as they happen. We don’t feel powerless to know how we should react as a follower of Christ. One of the big problems that we have within the Church is an inability (unwillingness) to individually seek direction in the Holy Bible. Quit just following along with the crowd on Sunday morning for your “mandatory hour” …Seek His Word for your direction, protection and purpose…it is a relationship, not a chore…the anxiety can disappear.
I love you all…
